How each check works and its tolerances

Is my file uploaded?

No. The check runs in your browser on your own device. Your SVG or DXF isn't sent to a server and nothing is stored.

Does it work with my laser (Glowforge, xTool, LightBurn, Epilog…)?

The checks look at the file itself, not at a specific machine, so they apply to any laser or CNC software that imports SVG or DXF. Enter your bed size, material size and smallest cuttable feature to check against your setup.

If everything passes, will it cut perfectly?

Not necessarily. The check finds common file problems, but it can't know your material, kerf, power settings or which lines you intend to cut, score or engrave. Always run a test on scrap first.

Will it change my file?

Only if you ask it to, and only in one exactly safe way: removing shapes that are exact duplicates of another shape. Open paths, text and other issues are explained rather than changed, because fixing them automatically could alter your design.

Why is an open path a problem?

Laser software can't tell the inside from the outside of an open shape, so it may not cut it out cleanly, fill it for engraving, or apply kerf offsets. A tiny gap you can't see on screen is enough.
